Your Privacy, Explained Simply
No complex legal jargon. Here is exactly what we do, what we don’t do, and how your data stays safe.
1. What We Keep
We only save:
- Your email address (only if you choose to make an account).
- Your watchlist (the movies, shows, and anime you add).
- Your episode progress & ratings.
If you use Loopa as a Guest, all data stays only on your device.
2. What We NEVER Do
Our promises to you:
- We never sell your personal information to anyone.
- We never display ads or tracking beacons.
- We never track what you do outside the Loopa app.
Your collection is yours alone.
3. Where Your Data Lives
Your watchlist is saved securely in two places:
- On your device: Instant offline access, never locked behind an internet connection.
- In the secure Cloud (Supabase): Encrypted and synced only when you log in to your account.
4. Public Helpers (APIs)
Loopa connects to trusted public databases to show you posters and plot summaries:
- TMDB: For movie and television series information.
- AniList & Kitsu: For anime schedules, posters, and episode counts.
None of your private user details are ever shared with these services.
5. You Have Superpowers (Your Rights)
You have 100% control over your data at any time:
Download your entire watchlist as JSON or CSV from Settings anytime you want.
You can delete items, clear local data, or request complete account erasure anytime.
Formal Policy Summary
This Privacy Policy applies to the Loopa Web application and Loopa Android application. We do not use third-party analytics trackers, behavioral cookies, or advertising SDKs. Data transmission between your device and our backend is encrypted using standard TLS/HTTPS protocols. For data deletion inquiries or privacy questions, contact privacy@loopa.app.
